Position: 1890s Sharecropper Complex Interpreter
Facility: George Ranch Historical Park
Supervisor: Director of Programs
Status and Pay: Salaried with benefits, $31,000/year
Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, with occasional variances
Summary of Position: This position provides leadership and management of the outdoor1890s Sharecropper Farm, Rail Car and Line Camp. This includes credible authentic interpretive programs at the listed 1890s Sites including, but not limited to, educational programming, family programming, and related special events. Working as a part of the program staff team, duties will also include supervision of part time employees and volunteers at the listed sites.
Qualifications:
• 3-5 years relevant experience in history, living history, interpretation or public programming
• Minimum BA in History, Living History, Museum Studies or related field
• Ability to interpret Black history
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including public speaking
• Self-motivated, independent worker with some supervisory experience
• Ability to work effectively with diverse persons and groups
• Computer literacy in basic office applications: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
