Celebrating 50 Years of TAM Conferences!
TAM will be celebrating its 50th conference anniversary with the TAM 2025 Annual Conference in Austin, Texas, from April 6th to April 9th, 2025
The roots of efforts to organize Texas museum professionals can be traced back to 1939. Shortly after the 13th annual Texas museums conference in 1974, the Texas Association of Museums was officially created. Our first official conference as the Texas Association of Museums was hosted in 1975 in San Antonio.

Celebrating our 50th year of conferences as the Texas Association of Museums, TAM 2025 Austin’s conference theme, "Bridging the Past and Future,” celebrates TAM's rich history and envisions an innovative future. Inspired by Austin's iconic bridges, this theme reflects our commitment to connecting past achievements with future advancements. We hope this theme inspires you as you prepare your conference proposals, which are due July 31. We welcome proposals that explore forward-thinking professional development in the museum field, whether they touch on the past, the future, or the bridges between them.
Share your expertise with the TAM community! Hosting a session at a TAM conference is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your research, network with fellow museum professionals, and contribute to the advancement of our field. Whether you're a seasoned presenter or a first-time proposer, we welcome and value your ideas.

Do you want to have a say in the program content for one of the largest museum conferences in Texas? Join the Program Committee for TAM 2025 Austin! As a committee member, you'll have the opportunity to review and select session proposals, provide feedback to presenters, and help guide sessions to the finish line. Your contributions will help shape an engaging and informative conference for museum professionals and enthusiasts alike.
Must nominate by June 15, 2024 to be considered for the TAM 2025 Austin Program Committee.
