Executive Director Hiring Notice
Insights Science Discovery seeks an energetic, creative, relationship builder with the vision to grow a STEAM education non-profit in El Paso Texas. Our Executive Director needs leadership skills characterized by an ability to develop and empower diverse staff, increase visibility of our organization, and carry forward major projects and programs. Our ideal ED values community and has the ability to transform ideas into outcomes. Strategic decision making in project prioritization, from basic infrastructure improvements to large-scale programmatic initiatives, is essential to successfully carrying out the job. Experience with fund development/fundraising and budget management is expected. Please include a cover letter with your resume.
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required; a master's degree is preferred. Experience may substitute for a graduate degree.
Experience: Candidates for this position should have 6 years of experience working in roles relating to fund development, administrative management, or community development. A deep understanding of informal education, an educational background or experience in a STEM field, and property management experience are preferred.
Description of Responsibilities:

Facilitate the Board of Directors in identifying and implementing a five-year strategic plan that encompasses all existing and potential assets and programs, and includes an annual review;

Oversee the development and implementation of an annual budget, with monthly reports to the Board;

Collaborate with staff to develop and pursue a strategic exhibit and programmatic plan to include daily schedule, extraordinary events and special events;

Interface with the local community to strengthen relationships and the Insights cooperative culture;

Manage paid and volunteer human resource systems to include hiring, training and supervising staff, developing volunteer trainings, and monitoring evolving staff needs as the organization expands;

Develop and implement a donor program including membership and sponsorship packages to financially support Insights;

Build and maintain relationships with community partners that provide fiscal, in-kind and human resources to support Insights;

Manage relationships with local school systems including school programs and camps, and teacher in-service training to ensure Insights is a viable and accessible resource to educators;

Oversee development marketing and publicity, including social and on-line media ‘branding’ in the communities served.
Annual Salary: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year, with the potential to increase subject to successful fund development.
