Development Consultant
Position: Development Consultant
Reports to: Executive Director
Schedule: Temporary 12-month position, flexible schedule
Pay Range: $35,000 to be paid over twelve months based on completed projects.
The Frontier Times Museum is seeking a Development Consultant to assist with fundraising, obtaining corporate sponsorship, developing a robust membership program, creating and implementing fundraising events, and assist executive director with capital campaign. Strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to motivate and inspire are a must as this role markets and promotes the museum to potential donors. The successful candidate needs to be outgoing, energetic, and a creative person who can promote the museum with enthusiasm and passion. This position works closely with the executive director and board leadership to achieve the organization’s fundraising goals.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for raising operational funding through a variety of revenue streams.
- Markets the museum to potential donors and corporate sponsors.
- Responsible for attaining corporate sponsors for museum events.
- Oversees the museum’s membership program through retaining and enhancing relationships with existing members and through cultivation of new members
- Works with museum staff and the Board of Trustees to develop and implement fundraising events.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of local and regional philanthropy landscape
- Clear and compelling verbal and written communication skills
- Keen ability to communicate and serve as an ambassador for the organization’s mission and vision
- Experience strategizing capital campaigns and special events
Context:
The Frontier Times Museum is a public history museum located in Bandera, Texas, an hour northwest of San Antonio. Celebrating its 90th year in 2023, the museum is currently undergoing a capital campaign to expand the museum campus with a building expansion and outdoor programming space. This position will help the museum retain its operational funding and financial sustainability while the museum actively seeks donors for the capital campaign.
