OMA Webinar | Creating a Culture of Advocacy at Your Museum
Event Details
Registration deadline: February 10, 2025
Is advocacy an afterthought for your museum? Feeling unprepared and under-resourced to engage with policymakers or pursue public funding?
Join Sarah Sisser, leader of CreativeOhio, the state's principal arts and culture advocacy organization, for a refresher on some of the fundamentals of civic literacy and get a few simple takeaways that you can quickly implement to level-up your advocacy game. Sarah will also share the current initiatives on CreativeOhio's public policy agenda and what we might expect for arts and humanities at the state and federal levels in 2025.
About our speaker:
Sarah Sisser brings 15 years of experience as a nonprofit administrator, community planner, and advocate for funding of the arts and cultural institutions at the local, state, and federal levels. Prior to leading CreativeOhio, she served as the Executive Director of an Ohio museum for more than a decade. She is the immediate past president of Ohio Humanities, a member of the Creative States Coalition, and an Ohio state captain for Americans for the Arts.
