Professional Bio

M’Lou serves as the chief executive officer of the Heritage Farmstead Museum and is responsible for the overall management and operation of the organization. The Heritage Farmstead Museum is located on a four-acre historic farm site in Plano that hosts over 35,000 visitors per year. The museum is the premier history education resource for Collin County. M’Lou joined Heritage Farmstead Museum in April 2010. She has a unique background of corporate and non-profit expertise. Prior to joining the museum, she spent seven years as the director of membership and leadership programs for The Real Estate Council and The Real Estate Council Foundation. Before that she worked for ten years in commercial real estate as a property manager and leasing agent.
M’Lou earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Baylor University. She was active in her sorority Kappa Alpha Theta and worked at the Armstrong Browning Library and Museum. She is currently an active volunteer for the Plano Chamber of Commerce, specifically with Leadership Plano and has served on the Leadership Plano Board of Directors. She is also an active volunteer with Plano ISD, Richardson ISD, the State Fair of Texas, Texas Association of Museums and the American Alliance of Museums She has lived in the Dallas area all of her life. Currently she lives in Richardson, Texas with her husband Kris and son, Will Henry, who is a sophomore at Baylor University.
Her passion is making history education FUN and preserving the past for the benefit of future generations.
