TAM is proud to offer the following scholarships for members to attend the Texas Association of Museums 2020 Annual Meeting. Providing scholarships is critical to TAM fulfilling our mission to strengthen Texas museums. Donate to the various scholarship funds today by clicking HERE.

The Glenda Morgan Scholarship Fund

For nearly 40 years the Glenda Morgan Scholarship Fund has been used to underwrite educational training costs for Texas museum professionals. The “complete package” registration scholarship is valued at $450. Interested applicants must hold a current individual TAM membership to be eligible. 

The Sage Scholarship

In honor of Sandy Sage's 15 years of service to TAM, last year we established a "complete package" registration scholarship to TAM Annual Meeting in her name. The Sage Scholarship is directed to established museum professionals with 15+ years in the field. The “complete package” registration scholarship is valued at $450. Interested applicants must hold a current individual TAM membership to be eligible. 

The TAM Student Scholarship

In order to foster the future leaders of Texas Museums, TAM is offering a "complete package" registration scholarship to TAM Annual Meeting. The TAM Student Scholarship is directed to undergraduate and graduate students. The “complete package” registration scholarship is valued at $325. Interested applicants must hold a current TAM student membership to be eligible. 

TAM Affinity Groups

Affinity Groups are small-group networks within TAM that bring members together around shared interests. All eight TAM Affinity Groups contribute to scholarships to the TAM Annual Meeting.

Collection Managers Committee (CMC)

CMC is offering one “complete package” registration scholarship valued at $450 and one "one-day" pass valued at $100. Applicants must be a member of TAM and CMC. Previous recipients are not eligible. To apply, send resume (including 2 names of professional reference), and a one-page letter stating how attending the TAM Annual Meeting will benefit the applicant's professional development.

Historic Site/House Affinity Group (HSHAG)

HSHAG is offering one “conference session” registration scholarship valued at $225. Applicants must be a member of TAM and HSHAG. Previous recipients are not eligible. To apply, send resume (including 2 names of professional reference), and a one-page letter stating how attending the TAM Annual Meeting will benefit the applicant's professional development.

Art Affinity Group (AAG)

AAG is offering one “one-day” pass valued at $100. Applicants must be a member of TAM and AAG. Previous recipients are not eligible. To apply, send resume (including 2 names of professional reference), and a one-page letter stating how attending the TAM Annual Meeting will benefit the applicant's professional development.

Texas Association of Museums Educators’ Committee (TAMEC) 

TAMEC is offering one “one-day” pass valued at $100. Applicants must be a member of TAM and AAG. Previous recipients are not eligible. To apply, send resume (including 2 names of professional reference), and a one-page letter stating how attending the TAM Annual Meeting will benefit the applicant's professional development.

Museum Emerging Leaders of Texas (MELT)

MELT is offering one “one-day” pass valued at $100. Applicants must be a member of TAM and AAG. Previous recipients are not eligible. To apply, send resume (including 2 names of professional reference), and a one-page letter stating how attending the TAM Annual Meeting will benefit the applicant's professional development.

Independent Professionals Affinity Group (IPAG)

IPAG is offering one “one-day” pass valued at $100. Applicants must be a member of TAM and AAG. Previous recipients are not eligible. To apply, send resume (including 2 names of professional reference), and a one-page letter stating how attending the TAM Annual Meeting will benefit the applicant's professional development.

 

To apply to TAM Scholarships

Send a resume, references, and a one-page letter stating how attending the TAM Annual Meeting will benefit the applicant's professional development. The recipient will be responsible for his or her travel, lodging, and incidental costs. Following the meeting, the scholarship winner may be asked to write an article for the TAM newsletter that offers observations on aspects of the conference. Previous recipients are not eligible.
