About the Workshop

This spring TAM will present the second year of its popular mid-career workshop series, CAPACITY-BUILDING SKILLS TRAINING. The 2015 series will take place in Cuero at The Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum. Designed to attract museum professionals in and around south-central Texas, the workshops will focus on building skills essential to nonprofit management. Topics include fundraising, grant writing, board relations, volunteer management, and leveraging social media.


To present this series, TAM will collaborate again with Prosperity Partners, a consortium of highly experienced nonprofit professionals who focus on empowering museums and other nonprofits. Workshops will feature expert instructors Toni Turner, Karen Knox, Rich Dietz, and Mary Beth Harrington.


Topics include:

     Grant Administration/Stewardship by Toni Turner and Karen Knox

     Strategies for managing grants and ensuring good donor relations


     Donor Engagement and Retention by Rich Dietz

     A guidebook for recruiting and retaining donors


     Volunteer Management by Mary Beth Harrington

     The latest on volunteer management intended for staff, volunteers, and board members


Workshop Details:

Registration fee for TAM members is $50 and for non-members $75.
